Romantic Anniversary Weekend Advice Needed

My wife and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary next weekend. We don't have time to get out of town, but will be able to spend most of the day Friday and the first half of Saturday sans kids, so I want to surprise her and plan a nice, albeit brief, romantic getaway. I would like to book a nice hotel room for Friday night and go out to a nice lunch on Friday, dinner and drinks on Friday night (either in two different locations or one really great place), maybe some kind of entertainment, and a lovely breakfast on Saturday morning.

I'm looking for suggestions for a luxury hotel and restaurants in the area surrounding the hotel (and any other ideas). Let's face it, though--this is Houston, so we are willing to drive, but it sure would add to the "getaway" feel if everything we do (except maybe lunch on the way to the hotel and breakfast on the way home) is within walking/shuttle distance from our hotel. For that reason, I'm leaning towards hotels downtown (such as Hotel Icon or the Four Seasons), but would be willing to look uptown, such as the Houstonian or Omni.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Some of my friends are doing this exact thing this weekend at the Magnolia downtown. Another friend got married there. Lots to do from there. Their FB page posts often feature restaurants and entertainment in the area.

Brennan's is very nice. They are close to downtown, and have a theater shuttle, between them and your hotel I'm sure something can be worked out.

I would vote for Hotel Granduca. I was just there for the first time for a work retreat meeting and the hotel feels very secluded even with its location. It is small and elegant, and Ristorante Cavour is there.
