These folks bought a house and farm at the corner of Erwin Rd. and Mt. Moriah Rd. and converted the house into a store selling products from the farm. A nice option when you can't get to a farmers market. Like their Facebook page to see what they are selling. Note they have limited store hours: 3-6PM.

  1. Thanks for posting. I didn't know about this.

To find them on Facebook, search for "Funny Girl Farm".

    1. Got some eggs, tomatoes, and squash from them the other day. The hens have just started laying, so they're listing them as "pullet eggs" (somewhat contradictorily) and they're quite small but yummy none the less. They were selling them at a discount -- $3/dozen -- because of their size.

The squash we're acorn and about the size of a small grapefruit. They had a decent seed to flesh ration and roasted up tender and sweet.

The tomatoes were excellent. I roasted them with bread crumbs and anchovies.

They don't raise meat animals on the farm on account of one of the owner's sons being vegetarian, but they will sell in-sourced meat from other local producers once their full store is up and running.

Very convenient for us because of their location and opening times. I'll definitely be back.
