Smoked trout

  • 7

I know this isn't really a trout city, but I miss the smoked trout I used to buy (cheap!) at the Polish deli in Baltimore and would love to find a good one here, to eat at home.

Yum! Will have to look for that.

I enjoyed some Tony's smoked trout for lunch today that I picked up at the Morgan St. Thriftway in West Seattle. Their website doesn't list smoked trout available online, so I'm not sure how widely available it might be. http://tonysfishmarket.net/home/

    2. Try Vitmar Euro grocery store on Sunset in the Renton Highlands.
Variety of smoked fish all the time.....primarily a Russian/Ukranian(some Polish) grocery store with many East coast delights I was used to in Brooklyn,Long Island and Manhattan, and yes.....Balto too !!
Daughter went to Johns Hopkins so spent many, many a long w/e in Balto.
      Good luck !

      1. Visit George's Deli 907 Madison St.
        Imported Polish deli specialties.
Eat a Reuben sandwich and cup of soup.
No, wait, have the Livervurst too
and have them slice a pound of bacon for you

Do you speak of the rounded bacon, sliced thin, with spices in the middle, sort of like a Polish pancetta? Delicious, raw or cooked, I confess.

I was remembering buying a pound of regular smoked streaky bacon there, but those Polish make a sausage of everything and cylinders of pig are everywhere there. )
