Best places to buy wine in FVG

CindyJ Sep 14, 2013 05:26 AM

My husband and I will be staying in FVG for a week or so and we hope to do some picnicking and cooking while there. We'd like to stock up on some local wines and were wondering if there might be a co-op or other place where there's a good selection with knowledgeable folks who can guide us with our selections. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Via Bosco Romagno, 4
    Corno di Rosazzo, Udine 33040

Nice folks there, ask about the vines that not many people are familiar with and the wines produced from these grapes. You will be pleasantly surpised by what Francesco introduces to your palate!!!!

If you are able to find a copy of Fred Plotkin's "Italy for the Gourmet Traveler," thumb thru the chapter on FVG. It is likely he will recommend a wine shop or two in the region worth visiting. There is a lot of excellent wine in that part of Italy.
