I was reading in the WS Journal the other day a great article about the joys of being a "regular" in a local watering hole.....got me thinking about back in Toronto where you could grab a cocktail and sit at the bar without being seen as a sociopath. I miss that. Haven't had much luck finding anyplace similar in Dallas, specifically scenic Addison. Any suggestions as to a good place to get a neat Glenfidditch or a vodka martini after work at the bar without being seen as a stalker? Kinda surprised me, but I suppose it makes sense, becuase I tried to be a regular when he was working for those nice drinks. On Beltline you have both Chamberlain's Steakhouse and Chamberlain's Seafood Market to pick from. For a more hyped up atmosphere try Sambuca Jazz Cafe on Addison Road.
