Organic baby spinach - best price on Peninsula?

While Trader Joe's produce often isn't a great deal, I'm addicted to their organic baby spinach ($1.99 for a 6oz bag) as well as their organic mixed greens.

Do any other local retailers or big box stores beat those prices? I haven't found one, though bags by weight can be deceiving, so I might have missed something.

Where do you buy your greens? (Okay, my underlying question is: should I join Costco for the greens, assuming I consume a bag or two a day?)

I buy the 1lb box at Costco and I believe it's $3.50-4. I also buy the majority of our veggies at Costco - box of mushrooms, sweet white onions, bell peppers, baby kale or spinach or mixed lettuce, brussel sprouts... Then I hit Alemany farmers market or Chinatown for fresh seasonal veggies like zucchini, tomatoes, corn, etc.

While Costco may not always have the cheapest price for bell peppers in summer, their bell peppers are sweeter and have thicker walls than the bell peppers I got for $1 at Safeway. The Safeway ones were bland tasting and went bad in my fridge after 4 days :( So I choose Costco for quality over price.

If you don't want to get a Costco membership just to buy greens, just find a friend with a Costco card who will buy you a cash card. Then you can shop with the cash card. More info http://thefrugalfind.com/you-can-shop...
