dimes nyc yuck
was so excited to see a new restaurant in the chinatown/les neighborhood, but this place is not going to see me again any time soon. for twenty bucks, i got a bowl of barley and a few pickled veggies, sliced apple with hot chicken on it and an iced tea. did i mention the few slices of chicken for which i paid extra were hot? on a cold salad.
i went to school in boulder, so i'm no stranger to healthy food, but surely in the twenty or so years since i graduated someone has figured out how to properly cook a vegetable so it tastes good and is healthy.
this place is for the birds. and this chick ain't no bird.

I've been going everyday this week for lunch and it's AMAZING!!! It's on the pricier side, but food costs have gone up, so you really need to factor that in as well. Plus the quality of food is great!
Welcome to the neighborhood Dimes!! Very excited to have this new joint here.
I walk past Dimes on the wayward way to work and was interested when I saw the menu - normal offerings like bacon and eggs and roasted chicken then the three Acai bowls one which has Acai/kale/banana/ginger/lime/buckwheat/hempseed/honey. A bowl of herbed barley/crunchy vegetables/apple/black sesame thahini/ scallions ; a vegetable offering of tomatoes/gooseberries/basil/black caraway/plum; a note that states, "All if our in-house water is filtered to ensure healthy bods"; all the above leads me to think the place is either just right or very not for me.
I agree that it's not the best value but I really liked my coffee and acai bowl. Not sure if I would choose to add chicken for $4 to lunch/dinner options but overall I appreciate the new healthy option in the neighborhood.
