Looking for downtown winebar with delicious bites

Its time for me to figure out where to have my birthday this year and I need some new ideas!
It will be a sat pm, smallish group around six of us with others that come and go for a drink.
Past years i have had it at terrior tribeca, bar veloce, boqueria, and terrior e village.
I love quinto pino but i'm afraid its too tiny, same with initeca and bar jamon.
Open to suggestions of bars/lounges/restaurant bars with a decent wine list and nibbles beyond the cheese plate and deep fried snacks variety.
Thanks!

    1. How about a wine bar with great food...except it's on Staten Island (easy walk from ferry)? If so, I guess I need to tell you about it on the Outer Boroughs board.

Hmmmm. I kind of love the idea yet my rather stubborn manhattanite friends most likely won't.....

Do a search for Enoteca Maria. I wrote up my visit from July 26 (it was in the thread that was on this board, too) from the person whose friend was new to NYC and hates the place. The OP wanted a dining experience that would help the friend love NYC.

      2. I did this a couple of years back at Anfora and it was great - got there at 5pm when they opened and commandeered a few booths, which allowed everyone to sit, drink, and snack. Service was excellent also. I know they recently changed management, so hopefully this will not change.

Thanks! My favorite part of planning my party is the "research" as i will be visiting before having my bday there- any deep thoughts on the food situation?

I don't remember much (must have been a good birthday!), but perusing the menu right now reminds me that we had lamb sliders and a bunch of the crostini (the ricotta and honey one was amazing).

        2. What about Jadis? If I remember correctly they have more space there than inoteca.

          1. I like V Bar in the East Village, decent wine list and food options.
