Fun and festive lunch?

I'm having a tough time deciding where to eat lunch for my birthday. Casa Mono? Jean Georges? Babbo? Downtown is best. Interesting good food is most important. Not too pricey - after drinks and coffee the prix fixe at Jean Georges is about as much as we'd like to spend. For some reason I'm drawing a blank. I've already been to all of the above, and wouldn't mind trying some place new.

    Maybe Bouley lunch?

Absolutely love Bouley for lunch and the lunch tasting for $55 is, IMO, a really good deal. If you would like something a little more "fun" maybe you want to look at ABC Cocina or ABC Kitchen.

Jean George , Bouley and Babbo are not fun and festive imho.

Well, I think any place can be "fun" but I don't think these places are particulary festive in the traditional sense but since the OP used them as examples maybe it's what they consider festive?

Celebratory? More swanky than a delicious sandwich at the mighty quinn's? I don't necessarily need a party atmosphere - just exceptional food.

I think I knew what you meant from the get go and I think any of your 3 would be good for a celebration. JG being in TWC doesn't really fit the desire to be downtown so I'd again fall back to the Bouley suggestion.

IMO casa mono is the sleeper everyone over looks for the shiny new places. The casa mono razor clams a la plancha are reason enough to go.....
