dinner spots in Fort Worth near Renaissance hotel
Boston living, Los Angeles raised, chowhound here, in Ft Worth for a training conference. I have two nights of dinner I need to find for myself (technically three, if I get a response for dinner tonight after I shower once I post this), I'd like to get the "local flavor", ie Central TX BBQ, possibly Mexican/Tex-Mex, ??
I don't have a car, so I'm hoping for something within walking distance if that is a possibility, even if it means I don't get "the best", perhaps just "the best I can easily get to"?
Not sure where the Renaissance is exactly ... I assume downtown? Grace downtown is good ...
Suggest talking to your concierge about what's within walking distance (as I'm sure you've noticed, it's still burning hot here) and shuttle distance & posting back for prioritization of those options.
There's a place downtown to get a BBQ sandwich, somewhere around Throckmorton ... don't remember the name. It's a hole in the wall, not bad.
Despite what anyone else might say, I still think Joe T. Garcia's is a must for an out of towner. Yes, it's a touristy place but the food is still reliably good Tex-Mex and the huge and beautiful outside patio with it's fountains is inviting and very comfortable. Especially on these mild evenings.
