Rehearsal Dinner in New Orleans

My fiancee and I are getting married in New Orleans in April and are looking for a place to have our rehearsal dinner. We are from out of town and don't really know where to start? We will have about 35 people and would like it to be more casual and around $40-$50 per person. Any suggestions?

Answers to these questions will help us give you advice:
Where will the bridal party/guests be staying?
Is that $40-$50 with liquor, tax and tip?
    Any particular food likes/dislikes?
    What weekend in April?

Our wedding is at Degas House and guests will mostly be in French Quarter or Garden District. Yes that should include those things, but we are looking more for just beer and wine. We are not too picky with food, but traditional New Orleans food is great. April 4 is the wedding, so the rehearsal dinner would be April 3, 2014 (a Thursday).

      Try Tujague's.

In addition to Bayou Teche's suggestion of Tujague's, you also might want to look into The Napoleon House. They have an upstairs room that might just work for you. If you want to leave the quarter and travel by the Red Lady (street car down Canal Street) look into Mandina's.
