British style Sunday roast lunch [San Francisco]

Desperately seeking a roast Sunday lunch in the City. Need the full works: Yorkshire puddings, the lot! Any suggestions? This is a hangover emergency!

Not in the City, but if you can make it to Santa Rosa with your hangovers, I just heard from a friend about the Sunday roast lunch at The Toad in the Hole pub.

"Melanie, it's delicious medium rare roast beast, with green beans, roasted potatoes and turnips, gravy, horseradish, and the most amazing Yorkshire pudding. YUM. Every Sunday."

It's not listed on the online menu but the owner confirmed.

House of Prime Rib (HOPR) definitely has Yorkshire pudding..and meat comes in different size portions...on Van Ness is SF

HOPR opens at 4pm on Sundays, guess that could be a late lunch.

I've heard that there are pubs that do this British-style, but maybe it's just word of mouth.

Thanks. I think HOPR looks the closest. Maybe there's a niche in the market!

For the upscale version, have you considered The Cavalier? http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-cavalier-.... I haven't been but it looks good.

I don't see anything about roast beef on their menu. It has the phrase "Sunday roast" but that's chicken.

The Cavalier plans to be an all-day restaurant, but it's dinner only until October. So no Sunday lunch till then.

Sounds good, I might try it. For a Sunday roast, the meat can be beef, lamb or chicken but without the Yorkshire pudding, it's nothing!

Parkside Tavern has prime rib all day Sunday. I'm not sure about the Yorkshire pudding.
