Looking for a casual Italian restaurant in midtown for an early Saturday dinner.
I have not in quite a while but Trattoria Trecolori use to be well liked on this board; not a destination by any means but the food was always solid.
Mercato, as others have said. Stella 34 on the sixth floor of Macy's. Seriously. Have the farrotto if it's on the menu. Delicious.
I've been to Mercato 3 times in the lat month. So ye, +1.
Also like Il Melograno but haven't been in a while
Have you been to Pizza Notte? I walk by it sometimes and have heard that they have a pretty good prix-fixe bargain lunch, but dunno what the rest of their menu is like.
Nope, never been. You try it first ;)
If you mean Pazza Notte on 56th and 6th, it's not worth your time.
Oh, ok. Good to know. Thanks.
How casual? How early? Might help if you were more specific about which area of midtown is ideal for you.
