Laduree Coming to SOBE

They say October. Very excited.

My best guess is it is not at 1108 for the reasons Frod said on twitter (too big and Anthropologie is there), however two doors down there are for rent signs for 3100 sq ft right before the movie theater with the entire space covered by paper.

It is unusual that there would still be for rent signs on a property that is already rented and going under renovation but given the info we got, that location is my best guess. Anyone with further insight -- it would be much appreciated.

I did some of my own snooping and found Laduree made an LLC in Miami recently (filed on 4/23 meaning they probably signed the lease around then...). The manager is the CEO of Laduree US so this is definitely for real folks. The link is below.

  1. One other option I just thought of is Laudree is taking part of Anthropologie's space or is in Anthropologie as a separate store with both stores operating in that space.

Excited too. I hope it's open when I visit in Oct - would take the sting out of not being able to go to NAOE.

Do you know if this will be a shop or a full-service tea salon?

looks like a shop with a champagne bar so far...no mention of a tea salon

    2. I found out where it is. It is tiny and it is going in where the crepes place was adjacent to the movie theater (3 doors down from anthropologie towards alton) -- it is only about 300-350 sq ft which I believe is smaller than the upper east side NYC location (have not been). See page 3 of the pdf below...

They have only done demolition on the spot so far so I am not optimistic about October even though the space is small, you still need to deal with the City...

There is almost zero chance this place is opening up in October. To the best of my knowledge they have not even applied for permits yet.

I think they applied for a permit today. In totally unrelated news, it also looks like the Regal is going to have an IMAX screen put in.

I was wrong. That permit was for Jugo Fresh. Sorry, still no evidence of Laduree permit.

They are shooting for December now.

Construction has started. It is possible they are open before the new year.

      2. They are open now.

          Expensive, but really great.
