Asiate for breakfast??

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are celebrating our one year anniversary in NYC next month. I wanted to take her out to a really nice breakfast, with a view. I've read some pretty good things about Asiate. I realize that window seats aren't guaranteed, and I also read that they give preference to those who are staying at the hotel (not sure if that is true or not)...

I really wanted to have the view, so does anyone have any experience with Asiate? If I booked one month, to the day, in advance, is there a good chance that we could get a window seat? Also, any preferable spots in the dining room? Corner tables? Thanks!!

Yes, I think it's true. I was given a non-window seat once when there were pretty many window tables left. I asked my the staff whether I could move over to one of the window seats and he said they were for hotel guests. lol

My advice is, go there early, say, 5 minutes before they open. (I think they open at 7am if I remember correctly. Then go by 6:55am).

Once you get the window table, relax and enjoy, watching the sun rising!!!

Nice! Anything they do particularly well for breakfast?

I believe you can reserve a window seat without being a guest of the Mandarin.

You can reserve a table, but there is no guarantee that you will get a window seat. You may or may not, depending upon the situation.

I always ask for a window seat when I make a reservation for Asiate, and sometimes I got one, another times I didn't.
