Suggestions for a very nice lunch or dinner for my Mother- in -laws 85th birthday.

For her 80th birthday we took her to Langdon Hall. While it was an excellent meal we felt it was over the top for her, she is not a foodie, but we are. She like Terra Cotta Inn, but have been several times and wanted someplace new if possible.

The family are spread out between Oakville, Toronto, Burlington and Paris, so location is not too much of a concern.

  1. How about Quatrefoil in Dundas? Not as over the top as Langdon Hall but still lovely.

It will probably be a Sunday and they aren't open. The menu looks very good and someplace we have been meaning to try.

We ate there with her and weren't impressed. Very expensive wine list. It will be a party of 10 and didn't think the seating was suitable.

      2. How about the Carriage House in Burlington, we did a 50th Anniversary dinner there a couple years ago for my 'rents (and their entire wedding party) and they did a very nice job, it's not a foodie place at all but very nice and solid without being too old fashioned and the decor and service were excellent.

Thanks, will check out their menu. Has anyone tried Cucci in Oakville?

They also have set menus for private parties and groups, make sure you check them out as well
