The Grasshopper Mexican Restaurant

I've eaten here several times for lunch and love it. The Refried beans are yum and the rice is the best I've ever had. Clean, good service and Tex-Mex freshly made. A winner!!!!

Sarasota I'm pretty sure... I had a couple friends give it a big thumbs-up as well...

    2. Any indication on where it is?

      1. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota. It takes more than refried beans and rice to coax us out. Tell us about a main course.

Veggo, based on a web search, that produced pictures from management not customers, I'd said that the menu is primarily Tex-Mex. The owners are from Edinburg, Texas. Most entres are the typical tacos, enchiladas, chalupas, burritos. Not even a carne asada on the menu. Positive reviews all hearld the margaritas, which may cloud some remembrances and certaily dulls the taste buds. And, the worst, IMO, is that they have that oxymoron "Corona Light" on tap. You would think they could at least have Shiner on tap. Probably better off sticking with Acapulco Tropical.

Thanks, crew. Doesn't sound like it's worth a special trip- too many good eats in Sarasota.

              Hey Veggo,

I have posted about Guerro's Mexican Bakery & Restaurant a few times; now they have Conejo, (rabbit) I had it roasted, I think it is also served as a slow cooked stew; great, also other real Jalisco style dishes.
location is Sarasota, NW corner of Webber and Beneva, don't let the exterior scare you off, inside it is clean and inviting.
