Flash "unsafe operation"

Fake Name Sep 1, 2013 04:43 PM

I've been getting a lot of windows similar to the attached when I land on a Chow page. Sometimes one at a time, sometimes several. Not always the same destination.

Irritating.

That's definitely not intended behavior. The next time this happens, could you please take a screen shot of the ads on the page? We should be able to investigate further with that information.

Difficult to capture the whole desktop activity. Interesting to note- I'l close the error window, and can use CH for a while, but then another (and sometimes another and another) error comes up. Frequently stopping Safari altogether and making me force-quit.

Flash is, in and of itself, an "unsafe operation." Many websites are (thankfully) gradually abandoning it.

It's a shame Jobs didn't live long enough to see its demise.

Getting more of these pesky popups. It was fine for a while, but now a mess.

There are a variety of Flash-related viruses going around - I have one currently that comes with an "update now!" pop-up, although there are enough misspellings in the text that I know it's not legit. I'd run a thorough virus scan as well.

I'm on a Mac, and while viruses CAN happen, they (very) rarely do.

And it's only on this site. Just got another load of these pop-ups.

              Sigh.

Appears to be the Twix ad.
