Breakfast spot needed NYC

PotatoPuff Aug 30, 2013 03:40 PM

Please help, my husband has to take someone for a quick (45 min max) breakfast or coffee at 8am on a weekday as close as possible to Grand Central station. I was hoping for something besides a Starbucks, any ideas?

Thanks for the input guys. Sadly Starbucks won out. Mendy's comes off as a bit too Jew-y.

What about the Screme outpost that's on 42nd, I think between 5th and 6th?

Screme on 42nd was inside D'espresso, which is no longer kosher (it was sold and the new owners didn't keep it kosher). I didn't know they opened up the Brynt Park location yet?

Mendy's dairy stand in the Grand Central food court opens at 8.

I was also going to suggest that, as soon as I came across this post. Very convenient, especially if you're coming in to GCT in the morning.

Mendy's. It's quiet in the morning, so they can find a able and talk.

The closest Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf branches are at 55th and Park, or 39th and Broadway, which is a little far. Milk'n'Honey on 45th between 5th and 6th opens at 7am. Probably the best bet would be to find an upscale coffee shop immediately nearby, not particularly a kosher one, and for your husband to just get coffee.

Um, none of the places mentioned there are kosher.
