Asian ice-cream flavours in Calgary (or other unique , unusual flavours )

There's black sesame, halo-halo, ube and i think red bean, pandan and mais-queso at Lucky Supermarket. They are in buckets though, and i just want to have a taste-- are there any ice cream shops in Calgary selling these flavours in a cone, smaller portion?

I saw another thread mentioning Phil's Forbidden Ice Cream Shop but when i do an online search, seems the business has closed

  1. And Mackay's.. the location in Cochrane recommended I don't drive however

    1. Here's what you do: Go to Urbanspoon, search using search term "ice cream," call the places, and then come back here and let us know what you found. I'll get you started:

      1. Village Ice Cream currently has black sesame ice cream as a seasonal selection. You can buy it in pints or scoops (or even a sample taste...they're very nice!)

Also, I remember Amato Gelato had a few Asian flavours in their cooler section (pints, individual bars). I do believe they were Mackay's brand.

Black sesame is no longer at Villag but it's still worth trying!

        1. Asian grocery stores usually also carry popsicles in most, if not all, of those flavours. They're usually small boxes (4-6 sticks). Just find a friend or three who also want to try some and you can have one each! (Or give them to unsuspecting co-workers.)
