the VBL appears in full on every page when reading the Discussions -- how to make it go away?

The only place a list of boards should appear on the discussion pages is in the dropdowns up top, which should remain hidden until you move your mouse over them. Are you seeing a list of boards somewhere else?

It is dropped down on every discussions page -- to get rid of it I have to click the words vbl then it goes away for that page only and reappears on the next page.

Sorry, is this on a desktop or on a phone?

            Hi Sarah.

It looks like you're on Windows 7 with a very old version of Firefox (Firefox 12?). The latest version of Firefox is 23 so a place to start might be updating your browser.

I'm not able to reproduce what you describe on our end. Could you send us a screen shot of what you're seeing? And possibly describe the things you'd done just before this started happening? Like, did you start on the Chowhound home page and then open a thread and then go to a board page and a thread etc? The "View Board List" link only exists on the Chowhound home page (http://chowhound.chow.com/boards) so it's perplexing that you're seeing this happening on discussion pages. Any details you can provide will help us possibly track down the culprit.

            Thanks!

I am using a borrowed laptop which prob hasn't been used for awhile. Today the VBL dropped down, I closed it and clicked on Chowhound at the top next to Videos and the page came back up without the VBL. Problem solved, I guess.
