broasted chicken in austin

  • d

Does anyone know of any restaurant in Austin that has broasted chicken? All the ones I know of don't make it anymore.

  1. I think that Barbara Ellen's used to, if it's still there. At 71 and Bee Cave Road or 71 and 620, I think.

It seems that everyone out in Oak Hill used to have broasters -- Rosie's Tamale House, Nutty Brown -- most of their machines have broken. The Boulevard on Far West did too, but it took about 40 minutes to make and they didn't think it was worth it.

Okay, I googled "broasted chicken" to find my answer. Below is the link if anyone else is interested.

It sort of satisfies the "fried chicken" hankerin without all of the oil. I liked it the couple of times that I've had it.......

Thanks for the education. Now I want to find a genuine "Broaster".
