Exposing vodka based extracts to the sun.

I'be recently opened a deli style sandwich place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The front of the shop is entirely in glass with metal shelves. I can't put food there but I also would prefer to have something not entirely decorative. Right now there are glass bottles with water and food coloring.

If it is workable I'd like to replace the water/dye mixture with vodka or ethyl alcohol based extracts. Things like vanilla, coffee, raspberry and the like. I know that wine, beer, whiskey and the like degrade in the sun. Does anyone know if these extracts would hold up?

If not, anyone have a good idea instead?

Thanks, Dominic

  1. Definitely will not hold up. Will fade away or darken immediately. As for flavor... blech!

Use fake stuff that looks real, and is inexpensive so that it can be replaced as it degrades.
