Ondine Danbury CT - WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
I made the mistake of taking family to Ondine in Danbury, CT for my mother's birthday. First off, there is no way for older people or the handicapped or injured (one person has a broken ankle) to get into the restaurant.
Next, we were each given 3 menus, two of which had different prices for the same dishes.
When the wine arrived, the red was corked and turning. Initially the person who called the waitress was questioned, as though she had brought dry cork and vinegar with her.
When that was corrected, the food soon arrived. Next Problem!!! The table had ordered a quail dish - cooked to rubber, an artichoke dish - undercooked to the point the leaves were not able to be removed, a foie gras dish - at $22 was the size of my thumb and on and on it went.
I am mystified that ANYONE in their RIGHT MIND would think this is even so-so French, let alone worth the price or time of going to this slice of hell. The only good parts: 1: I didn't choose this alleged "restaurant"! 2: we left!
Hope for the sake of ALL you never make the mistake of going to this place. I say place VERY, VERY lightly.
