Carluccio's ~ Marlboro

If you have not been to this place, GO TODAY!!! I went for the first time 2 weeks ago, and went back again today. I read an article in the Star Ledger on the place, and it seemed good, so I figured why not? Every other place around here is not very good, so I gave this place a shot. So glad I did!! OMG!! The bread the sandwiches are on is incredible. Here is a tip...read the menu on-line first because its impossible to read all the selections when you get there. A lot to choose. My pic was a # 133 with hot peppers. The veal is super tender and the sandwich is addictive!!! My husband goes crazy for it!! The other pic today was # 169. The broccoli rabe and fresh ricotta..yummm.

I can go on and on about the place, its really THAT good! The sandwiches take a while to make, but they give you free zeppoles to munch on while you wait. Or, what I did today was call ahead so it was ready by the time I got there. The sandwiches are huge...I bought 2 for 3 adults, and I still have leftovers!! The woman who helped me was really kind and told me to buy the skirt steak form them next time I am grilling. She said it is like butter! I believe her...the place is great!

I literally just finished eating and had to post!! My neighbors are hooked on the place, too!! If anyone has been, what are some other good choices??

It is in the Willow Point strip mall. (Where Brioso is located.)

I've known about and have been going to this place for a couple of years. The aspect(s) you are bragging about is actual the reason I don't go more often. I only went for lunch and their sandwiches/subs are just TOO big. My first time I got a whole sub and it was lunch for the rest of the week. Even their half subs are just too packed with food.

The place is good, been there a while and I can't complain except for the fact the portions are too big for a mid-day meal for me.

You can't beat the 2.99 a lb chicken cutlets either. I also get my peter luger style slab bacon here for summer bbq's. This is also my closest source Manhattan Special, which you either love or hate.

My only complaint is the wait. They move really slow for former NYers so best to call ahead

I have to buy their 2.99 cutlets. When I was there today, a lot of people were picking it up. First I have to double up on my kickboxing classes this week to make up for all the calories I had today!!

Sounds like a great place. Can you sit down and eat there? It's over 40 miles from my house, but. I would probably arrange to meet up with friends there and there would be 8 to 10 of us so that is why I ask if there is seating. Thanks for the info.

There are tables outside and only like 1 or 2 inside. I did see a few people outside eating today. It's so delish!

While there are tables I wouldn't say it's set up for a meeting place. It's more set up for 1 or 2 people to sit together and enjoy a quick bite to eat.

Am I reading the menu wrong or are their sandwiches really 18 bucks?

No, you are seeing correctly. But keep in mind...that is for the large sandwiches, which is basically a loaf od Italian bread. Also, some of the items cost more, like the veal cutlets.

              Really good and fresh!!!

Yes, my first sub there was a chicken breast, mozzerella and broccoli rabe'. I got a whole sub because, well I'm fat. Let me tell you something when they handed it to me at the register it was like them passing me a 5lbs barbell. It was ridiculous and upon my unwrapping it in my office I had to remove about 2 chicken cutlets, from the one side I ate. No way I could finish a whole sub like this.

Imagine that place Harolds in Edison, get's into the sub business.
