They deserve their own thread because ma first visit was perfect.

I had chicken a the new spot called ma poule mouillée
accross the steet from la banquise.

Verdict. A great juicy chicken leg with tasty fries and a mini custard tart http://tinyurl.com/mgjyehf (what the official portgese name again?).

Nothing like freshly cooked. Even the tart was so flaky and tasty.

My new favorite place!

I don't like the name either, (beyond the literal "chicken" meaning of "poule mouillée", who wants damp grilled chicken?

But the quality of the product is more important than the silly name.

Furthermore "poule mouillée" is a québécois expression meaning "coward" - why even...

That is why I put "chicken" between scare quotes, as it is used in the same way in English. As for the literal English "wet hen", while "mad as a wet hen" may be more common, it has other meanings, though more a "wet blanket" or sad old thing than a "chicken".

I hope that won't stop you guys from going and experience a great meal. Unless you are a bunch of chicken? lol lol lol

And what a peasure to have someone just happy to serve you with a smile.

Yeah the name is ok. And at least it's in french, we don't see that a lot these days.

Who cares about the name, will they serve a good chicken? That's pretty much all that matters.

lol lol Some people care about details such as names and spelling lol lol

And I'm not enthralled by each and every portuguese chicken place that opens in MTL, as I'm portuguese and have eaten this all my life. I will try it anyways some time.

So this establishment does have Romados connection(Tony Alves)? Tasted their very yummy grilled chicken & fries. Both of these things reminded me very much of Romados's stuff.

Stopped buy and tried Poule Mouille and it was very good. The girl that served us behind the grill was very nice.
