Bottarga in Vancouver? / alternative to it?
I know this is an old topic from 2-3 years ago, but am wondering if anyones had success finding a source of bottarga that's slightly cheaper? At 60$ a pop it's quite hefty, ideas?
Also, has anyone had success making it from scratch with roe on this side of the world? I tried making it with sockeye roe and lingcod roe, not sure if real bottarga is suppose to taste like what I made ....
