Alright, I know someone asks something like this every day...but then that means it's normal, so it might as well be my turn.

My birthday's coming up (early October) and I'm looking for someplace to go for dinner that day with my mother. The ideal price range would cap at around $100 per person, after drinks, but before tax and tip and all that. Food type is flexible, but preferably American or some country in the Mediterranean.

Decor is actually kind of important here. I'm looking for something sleek and modern. Cold and impersonal (as far as design goes) is okay too. If that's not possible, something neat and sophisticated works too, I suppose.

I'm not going to insist that the food be the best in the city; as long as it's worth its price point I'll be happy. Someplace that isn't overly loud would also be nice. A well stocked bar or a good cocktail program is a major plus.

Anyways, I'm going to be doing a bunch of looking around, but if anyone has any ideas, or a direction they'd like to point me in, I'd be super grateful. Thanks a buncheroonie :-)

Oceana might belong on your short list when it comes to decor, noise level and menu needs, provided you'd both be happy with fish. You can double check its online menu for your price range , and while I think it has a well stocked bar, a cocktail "program" probably wouldn't be considered its strong suit, but maybe others know better.

Lincoln Ristorante has a $65pp dinner prix fixe that could work. And a very interesting Negroni list if you're into cocktails.
