Weinberg's Deli in Raleigh has closed.

Too bad we found out en route to satiate a reuben craving! As of 7 PM on August 21st, there is one fewer deli in the Triangle area: https://www.facebook.com/WeinbergsDeli

I ate a Weinberg's a dozen times or more and brought friends and tipped well.. Nobody there ever acknowledged me as a regular customer.

The help was untrained, the vibe was "dead". A deli should be loud, fun, and energized.

While I thought some of their food was pretty good, it was overpriced for their un-deli like small portions.

I don't like to see restaurants go out of business, but this one doesn't surprise me.

I'm really not at all surprised. We went there once on a groupon type of deal about 6 months ago and the place was empty. The food was mediocre - not bad but nothing to rave about and the decor was dated. It felt like it was on its last legs. Neither myself or my dining companion had any desire to ever return.

The decor was 2 years old!

That's the scariest part! It looked so dated and unappealing yet they weren't even there that long and I'm pretty sure they remodeled after the previous inhabitants. You can't defend lineoleum and wood booths though, you just can't! The color scheme was drab and dated. Honestly, it's almost as if they tried to make the place look horrible (and were extremely successful at it). If the food was great I would have been able to overlook the setting, this one just didn't win me over. I hope whomever moves into that space gives it a facelift and has better food for us to enjoy.

I think a place like Weinberg's given that it felt like the deli's you'd see in Boca would work better in some part of Cary nearer the retirees.

Oh my! I'm sorry it didn't work out for them. I really liked their brisket dinner-as a solo cook I don't bother making it just for me.
