Japanese Eats Near LAX

My parents are saying farewell to me at LAX tonight... To signify their love, I'd like to take them to a nice Japanese restaurant near LAX. I was thinking about I-naba. We're looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant, preferably with a menu that includes cooked foods (my mom can't eat raw foods) and fresh sashimi for my father. Areas like South Bay or West LA would work, too. What would you suggest?

Thank you!

  1. Just a little more info would help. There is nothing near LAX. Your best bets would be Sawtelle Blvd a few miles north or Torrance a few miles south. Also where are your parents going, and what is their preferences and experience with Japanese food?

Otherwise, Yabu in WLA on Pico might work. Inaba on Hawthorne Blvd would be good also.

maybe more suggestions depending on more info.

              can't say anymore,
              stopped going there years ago.
it's gone through a number of owners over the last few decades.
my choice for you in terms of food, but not in terms of proximity to LAX would be K-Zo in culver city.
              you can make reservations there.
              the food is good
              the restaurant is pretty
parking is free in the structure that is attached to their building.
lots of menu items both cooked and raw.

        1. Thanks, everyone. My folks decided not to eat, precisely because there's nothing near LAX. Ha. How anti-climatic.
