Trader Joe's Best Coffee Picks

I have never bought coffee from Trader Joes because I don't know what is good and what to avoid. I like a full bodied coffee that is not like nail polish remover (read: Starbucks). I usually buy Melita European Blend. Lavazza or Chock Full of Nuts. Any suggestions?

  1. I really like the coffee from New Mexico that is sold at Trader Joe's. It comes in a red and yellow package, and is roasted with very old equipment. I just can't remember the name of it now.

I did a quick search and found it. It is New Mexico Piñon Coffee, and is also available from Amazon. TJs has a great price, though.

I love this stuff! I used to order it here:

but the shipping could be kind of prohibitive. TJ's is the only place I know of to get find it in my area, and I'm really glad they carry it.

Yes, Fydeaux, this is the kind of good and unique product that you can find at TJs.

    2. Cafe Pajaro is a solid bean to try, or the organic Sumatra (didn't like the dark Sumatra).

      1. You can try any of the coffees and if you don't like it, just take it back for a refund.

I sometimes try the limited editions. The last one was Ethiopian Peaberry and it was quite good but you may not like that distinctive flavor.

From the coffees you usually buy, I would suggest TJ's House Blend or if you like a darker roast, the Bay Blend.

But really, consider trying something different from your usual and just return it if you don't like it.

Oh, and whichever one you get, pick up a package of the Bistro Biscuit speculoos to go with it!
