Looking for Somewhere to Eat Near Progress Street, Edison

sivyaleah Aug 16, 2013 06:13 PM

I am meeting a friend for lunch near her office next week. She works on Progress Street in Edison. I keep searching for places to go in the area but nothing sounds familiar to me (I used to live sort of close by). I know there is a lot of Indian/Chinese nearby but I don't think we want to go that route.

I'm willing to drive anywhere but I think she'd like to stick sort of close by so that we can spend as much time together as possible; not spend it on driving.

Somewhere not too noisy would be great - we haven't seen each other in years and we'll be doing a lot of chatting :D

Any ideas?

My first place was in West Gate, next door to Progress St. The area has changed a lot over the years....hands down the best place in the area I would suggest would be a straight shot, take Grove St. (almost directly across the street from progress, take it to route 27 make a left (north) and go to Lu Cas. Probably a 10 minute ride.

For something a little more casual but quiet and "decent" there is a Charlie Browns on Plainfield Rd. in Edison about a 5 minute drive. Nothing fancy but it would work for you.

    Good luck.

First thing I thought of was the old Winsdor Diner in Clark. Now called Johhny K's. I have not been, but a friend said it is pretty good.

There is absolutely nothing in that area to eat..in my opinion, so Clark is only a 10 minute ride over. If I think of anything else, I will post! Enjoy!
