Pirate Joe's >>> Irate Joe's

Trader Joe's drags a pirate to court

  1. I heard about the lawsuit a couple of months ago (and really, it was just a matter of time, as he is not at all trying to hide what he is doing). The only thing I've found there that really made me happy is the chocolate covered pomegranate seeds... and they're not always available.

    1. it's pretty ironic that at the same time over on some other board on CH (Chains) - there is a big back-and-forth in CH style about "I just don't get TJ's"

makes us chuckle, those complainers - move to Canada, then you won't get it (literally - cuz Tj's won't let you buy it up here) --- and at the same time, you might eventually miss it!

i hope the TJ attorney folks are reading all the threads - you'd think you would encourage fans (but I suppose not if they "make money" off of you - I don't know)

I liked Irate Joe's sense of humor. More like the original iconoclastic Trader Joe's before the chain changed hands a few times.

Friday night we were coming home from a week in WA/OR and, of course, we stopped off at TJ's for some quickie shopping. Arrived in the parking lot at 9:05pm, wife jumped out and headed to the door. Of the dozen or so cars in the lot it seemed ALL were BC plates [rolls eyes].

I parked, and not even a min passed before an "irate" Mrs. LR came back to the car. "Damn, they're CLOSED, won't let me in !!!"

All 'twas quiet 'til Exit 275 ......

Yeah, he's a real character. I chatted with him at length when he was still on Broadway at Transylvania Trading. He is not one to work for The Man.

        2. Hmm Ten buck Chuck just doesn't have the same appeal

I don't see what the issue ever was considering he was paying full margin and selling far out of their market. Typical big corporation squeezing the little guy because they can.

That's the outcome I expected, and the best one, in my opinion.
