Second Servorg's rec. Shojin is in DTLA and Mar Vista. Veggie Grill is in most parts of L.A.

third servorg's recommendation of cafe gratitude
        second bulavinaka's recomendation of Shojin.

veggie grill is mostly fake meat and, although it was cutting edge years ago, imho, it's nothing special now: mostly takeoffs of casual american food using fake meat.

there is a very good vegan ethiopian place on south fairfax: rahel.

in culver city , there are some indian vegetarian places: anapurna and there are two outposts of samosa house.

santa monica has a vegan thai joint (paper plates, self serve, self buss) on main st called Vegan Thai

    2. Real Food Daily on La Cienega is very good. Nice atmosphere
      on the casual side.

There's also a location by the Santa Monica Mall as well.

        2. Tal Ronnen's Crossroads on Melrose. Wonderful food!

M.A.K.E. in Santa Monica Mall. A bit pricey but excellent as well.

Both of the above are upscale and offer multi-course tasting menus (Crossroads has $45, $65 and $105, I believe; M.A.K.E. offers one between $50 to $65 depending on the day)

Sage Organic Vegan is a hit in Echo Park, and they will soon open their Culver City location. Also excellent food, but they are casual.
