This is directly on our way to Hilton Head and was wondering if this place is worth a stop. It gets good reviews on Yelp but was wondering what chowhounds think of the place?

  1. I haven't been to the Ridgeland Duke's but I have been to the Duke's in Walterboro. A little N of Ridgeland and I think a little further from 95.

I thought the pulled pork was good. Overall I really enjoyed the buffet. Fried chicken, mac and cheese and lots more.

I noticed a Duke's recently reopened in Beaufort. Beaufort is a really nice little town South of Ridgeland..a litle off 95 but worth a stop on the way to HH..or from HH if you have time.

That would've made a nice day trip but just looked it up and according to Yelp that location is already closed.

I don't always believe everything I read on Yelp...:)

        The Beaufort location just reopened.

Great, thank you Silves!! That'll be a perfect day trip for us!

    2. The location in Walterboro (actually owned by a different family) has a more extensive buffet. I've never tried the Ridgeland Duke's, but if you're taking I-95 down, the one in Walterboro is probably even closer to your route. Note that I think the one in Ridgeland is only open two days a week.

      1. The Walterboro location is very easy to find from exit 57, five minutes max. Note they are closed Monday and Tuesday and closes midafternoon on Sundays.

I go probably once a month, whether I need it or not -- it's inexpensive and it's busy enough that everything is brought out quickly and nothing sits very long.

It's probably about 1-1/2-2 hours from HHI, depending on traffic.

        1. They are all roughly about the same. Not bad, not great.

Pretty typical of what you find in South Carolina.
