Au Bon Accueil-would you go?

  • 7

We will have one night in Paris on Thursday Sept 26. Our friends are set on eating dinner at Au Bon Accueil with memories of a great meal they had had there in the past. Would you still eat there? On our last trip in March Cowhounders recommended Kei and we had a wonderful dinner. I am open to suggestions. We will probably eat on the early side since we are arriving that morning, skipping lunch and staying in the 6th.

  1. I'm of two minds; I've personally stopped going, because I was no longer excited; but I'd love it if you went and loved it.

Then we will go and I will report back. I trust your judgement

I can't take so much responsibility; others need to chime in here.

    2. I've been twice. The first time (3-4 years ago) and we were thrilled. The couple we were with had been there before and were happy to return. We went a little over a year later and it seemed that everything had changed. I wouldn't go back given so many alternatives.

I think I read somewhere that ownership had changed.

That is interesting. I wonder if it has changed hands.

          Well, it has.
When we started going in the late 1980's and 1990's the Lapcipiere's were in charge but as best I can remember/reconstruct it, they took over Chez Les Anges down the block and around the corner around March 2006.
We went back to BA and the first time thought it was OK but a subsequent visit disappointed (dates of these two visits not retrievable).
I am open to revision of my timeline and correction of my failing memory.

Our friends ate at BA last year and enjoyed their meal. Perhaps it is good these days.
