Infusing wine with berries?

b

At the risk of being labeled a ruiner of wine, I would like to infuse a bottle of red wine with some blueberries and perhaps even some raspberries and blackberries. The wine in question would probably be a Charles Shaw cabernet sauvignon because I have several bottles on hand. Would this be a good flavor choice, or would a different wine such as a Shiraz, be better? This infusion is intended for fun, not with any seriousness in mind, as a gift for a relative who loves berry desserts and red wine. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance. :-)

I have had strawberry-infused vermouths before and I have heard of other aperitif wines like Lillet Blanc being used. They're on the sweeter, longer lasting side than most wines (if kept refrigerated). My notes say it's one strawberry per 4 oz: http://cocktailvirgin.blogspot.com/20...

make him/her a berry cordial instead -- there are tons of recipes out there for various liqueurs.
