We have kids age 11-14, going to see Wicked tonight, and meeting friends before for quick-ish dinner near 51st St/8th Ave. I'd like somewhere not bland fare tourist fare. Any thoughts?

You're planning rather last minute. How big is the group? Six? Eight?

Don Antonio - 50th and 8th, no reservations, so get there early
Toloache - 50th and 8th, their OpenTable says they don't have any tables remaining, but it's worth a call
Danji - 52nd between 8th and 9th, they only take reservations for groups of 6+ people, give them a call ASAP

kathryn is right - it's sort of last minute.

If all else fails there's always McCormick and Schmicks (6th and 52st).

Enjoy the show. Just saw Wicked myself.

I never doubt Kathryn, she is always right!

We went to Bann the other night. Great Korean barbecue (you can cook your own, if you choose), and very family friendly. They have a restaurant week special, and it looks like they have plenty of tables available tonight. It's on 50th Street between 8th and 9th.
