Need dessert recipe for tonight, please help

So, I have last minute guests for dinner tonight and won't have a chance to go to the store. I have a large bag of chocolate chips, eggs, flour, sugar, and either pecans or walnuts available. Looking for fast & easy dessert recipe using those ingredients or other household staples. Have well stocked liquor cabinet, maybe some liquer to flavor? Have large bag of brown sugar and a can of sweetened, condensed milk. Also have cream cheese, maybe layer of this in between batter. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

  1. Maybe something like this? Everybody loves cookies. :D Sure it's not fancy, but who cares? Cookies are awesome.

Thanks, but I wanted something a little fancier than choc chip cookies. Do you think I could do this in a 9X13 pan and cut into bars?

I don't see why not, it sounds like that would be tasty, and attractive. Adding a bit of liquer would add a nice touch as well.

Diane, just seeing your post now so you may have already decided but if you are still thinking in terms of choc chip bar cookies, here is the Nestle toll house recipe, http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes...

      2. I would say cheesecake, but the dessert should really be dictated by the supper. What are you serving?

Well, this came up at the last minute this morning, so I am pulling stuff from the fridge/freezer:

Cold artichokes with sour cream/may dill sauce (luckily I have 4 brought at Costco - steamed them up last night!)
Baked sirloin steak (sauce with tomato, lemon juice, Lea & Perrins, some butter over steak and lots of sauteed onions)
hash brown casserole with sour cream, onion, peppers and cheese
Roasted brussels sprouts with EVOO and lemon juice

This sounds good too! I only have light corn syrup, think that would work?

Perfectly well. The last few times I made it I just used the Agave syrup I had on hand.

          2. If you can throw together a pie crust I would make a Toll House Cookie Pie. Got any vanilla ice cream in the freezer, it goes great with that pie.

Yum, that sounds divine. No vanilla ice cream, but got some mocha chip, think that would be great as well. Got a recipe?

Toll House pie would be great with mocha chip ice cream. FWIW, I prefer pecans to walnuts in this recipe.

I've made this pie, and it's delicious. Just be sure to use a deep dish crust--there's a lot of filling. Sometimes I've used 1/2 chocolate chips & 1/2 butterscotch chips. Agree that I think pecans are a little better than walnuts in it.

Yeah, given the menu, I'd thumbs up this recipe. I also like the cookie-icecream sandwich, but as a messy eater, the pie might be easier to handle.

              3. Since you mentioned you have ice cream, what about making chocolate chip cookies, and then making ice cream sandwiches? Might not be fancy enough, but everyone loves ice cream sandwiches :)

                1. given your stock, you could do a panna cotta, even a brown sugar panna cotta... with some candied nuts or fruit?

                  1. Sounds like you have just about all the ingredients necessary for those ridiculously addictive seven layer bars. You can do a shortbread crust instead of the graham cracker crust and omit the coconut if you don't have it. Whisking some bourbon into that condensed milk is good too!
