Girl and the Goat - What to Order?

Sooo excited!!! Scored a reservation at Girl and the Goat for tomorrow - the first day of our first ever trip to Chicago! Any recommendations for not-to-miss items (food and/or drinks)? I understand the menu changes, but maybe they have a few consistent items. Or perhaps someone has been very recently. We're open to all types of foods and flavours. Can't wait!!! TIA

    A lot of the menu stays the same, with "classics" that we've ordered several times. Previous favorites have included the crispy pork shank, goat/veal/pork sugo pasta, grilled broccoli with blue cheese, wood fired pig face with a fried egg, shishito peppers with parmesan-miso-sesame, and goat specials like confit goat belly with bourbon butter & lobster.

      The best food we had there were the vegetable dishes (we're not vegetarians) - including the shishito peppers. They really do work miracles with produce.

        Definitely get the pork shank!!!! I ate the whole thing myself plus 3 other plates:). I also liked the escargot ravioli.

          I second the pork shank, and also enjoy the fried oysters and whatever crudo they have at the time. Try the budino for dessert. Squash blossom rangoons were awesome as well, but I'm admittedly a sucker for fried, stuffed squash blossoms.

          So what did you end up getting? Late to the party here, but we loved the shishito peppers, and I thought the pig face was sublime. The chickpea fritters were also delicious. We were not so crazy about the roasted oysters, and the salmon dish we ordered just didn't do it for us at all. Still, a memorable experience.

            Thanks so much for all the suggestions. We ordered too much - and, of course, ate almost all of it! We had the bread with goat butter - so yummy and tangy; goat empanadas - very good; goat liver mousse that came with crumpets - over-the-top rich and heavenly; shishito peppers - very tasty, but too much for two to share; squash blossom rangoon - amazing; and the pork shank -awesome!!! So - along with cocktails to start and then a great bottle of red wine, (recommended by the sommelier, who was super-nice) - we had no room left for dessert :-(

            It was a great experience over-all - our waiter and all the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. I was so excited about going, that it could easlily have turned into a bit of a disappointment, given that my expectations were so high. But happily, I think it exceeded expectations!! That doesn't happen too often. Bravo to Girl and the Goat! It was an amazing first night for us in the great city of Chicago!
