Restaurant recommendations along the Alsace Wine Road

We will be visiting the Alsace region this fall, and plan on driving the wine roads. Any recommendations for good rural lunch spots would be appreciated. We will probably base in the Riquewihr area for several days before moving to the Moselle area.
My favorite restaurant in all the world is the Auberge d'Ill near Reibeauville. Plan on a very long lunch in one of the most idyllic settings in all of France.
When you visit Ribeauville do not miss J P Mette. Some of the finest eau d'vies anywhere.
If you go by Kaysersberg, please visit Domaine Weinbach and have a meal at Le Chambard. The Chambard wine list is studded with value gems outside of the Alsace selection.
Within Riquewihr itself, Le Sarment d'Or and La Table du Gourmet do excellent lunch menus.
For a truly rural experience I would suggest visiting one of the many Alsatian ‘ferme auberges’. They are family owned places, often in the middle of nowhere, where one can stay overnight and taste fresh, simple, local food. You can find them all over Alsace, usually closer to the mountains, so cattle can graze freely (great farmer’s cheeses are often couple of days old). Some of those places are located in rather remote areas, couple of them are accessible only by foot, but almost all of them offer breathtaking views, honest food and great Alsatian wines.
