Las Vegas Steakhouse and Other Recs - August 7 -11

  • 4

Looking for recommendations for great steakhouse. We have been to Craftsteak, Cut, and Steakhouse at Circus Circus. A few others that slip mind. Really into dry aged beef and have been spoiled by Jeff Ruby's steakhouses in Cincinnati. We will be staying at Bellagio today through Sunday.

Also looking for other foodie recommendations. Lotus of Siam and Raku already on list.... Thanks in advance!

  1. Carnevino has a great dry aged ribeye.

I went to carnevino last month. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't fabulous.

What I really didn't like about it was that it's run by two people who know -- above all else -- how to market food to customers. People want "the world's best cut of meat" -- so they do a lot of marketing to try to tell the world that this is the best money can buy. Their marketing is great.

But the steak (I had the ribeye) is pretty good. Probably average for a high-end steak house. I had a much better meal at the Las Vegas Smith & Wollensky six months earlier.

    2. Carnevino - known for the dry-aged

      We also enjoyed Gordon Ramsay...

We were thinking of Carnevino. Have not heard anything regarding Gordon Ramsay...
