There are so many threads on this subject. You really should do a search on North End so you can read a multitude of opinions. That said, on my most recent visit, we went to Beneventos on Salem St and were both happy with our meals. I like that you can go in and choose your meal the way you like it. I chose mussels with a spicy tomato sauce with fusilli. DH really enjoyed their lasagna. For dessert we strolled over to Hanover St and stopped for coffee and a pastry at Cafe Paradiso.

The best traditional Italian food in the North End is Rino's in East Boston.

I could be wrong, but I imagine that "traditional Italian" means different things to different people. To me, it means the red sauce Italian-American food that I used to get at Giorgio's in Newton Centre (the reason why I remain addicted to veal parm to this day!).
