Cronut at Paris Baguette (S.Bay) & Lee's Deli (2nd/Folsom, SF) - anyone try it yet?
My Flickr contact Randy F. took a pic of the Cronut he got at Paris Baguette. I called Cupertino store, they have it when it's open (closed now) $3.25 It's fried. Who's tried it?
Edit: read on Yelp they have it at Lee's Deli (2nd & Folsom), SF $2 individually packaged - cinnamon sugar, glazed, strawberry w/ custard & a chocolate glaze.

I was at the Galleria branch on Sunday morning and they have a small ad on the door announcing their cronuts. I asked the cashier about it and he very calmly said "they're quite popular". But no, I did not try one, I was too busy stuffing my face with their new tiramisu pastry...
I grabbed a cronut at Paris Baguette in Cupertino.
I found the cronut to be meh. It's lacking the qualities of either a great doughnut or a great croissant. And it's pricey at $3.50.
I don't know if they've licensed the recipe, or if they are using their own recipe. The staff calls it a "cronut", instead of the non-trademarked and more generic "croissant doughnut" in the poster
In terms of layered goodness, it doesn't come close to the Kouign-Amann from Satura Cakes, which you can get down the street at Bitter+Sweet cafe ($2.50).
