If anyone been to the new branch of Ippudo on 321 West 51st Street - is the waiting time is better or worse than Totto Ramen? Thanks!

No real difference at peak times. Nice new feature is they will text you when your table is about ready so you don't have to wait there.

      Thanks Bkeats.

We got there at 7:00 pm and were told that the wait was only 15-20 minutes so we stayed at the bar. Nice place, though it seemed more similar in vibe to Momofuku Ssam Bar than the original Ippudo downtown. The restaurant has a quiet counter seating area upstairs if you don't want to deal with the noise.

We enjoyed the chicken buns, Karaka-men, gelato and sorbets. We'll be back soon.

I really liked the Akamaru Modern with egg and spicy miso paste as add-ons. Although the egg in Totto is nicer

Still very busy on a recent Saturday lunchtime. I got there at 11:20 am. and got one of the last two seats at the bar. Tables were all occupied. The line started streaming out through the waiting area and beyond shortly after. The good news is that they have plenty of tables, so it looked like people were being seated fairly quickly.

I had the fiery karaka-men and the steamed pork buns. Both were very good.
