First some background from New York Times May 2001: http://tinyurl.com/n6d74h2

Alaskan Black Cod Smoked locally and being sold at 125 South Main Street
( route 25 ) IN NEWTOWN AT THE BUTCHER'S BEST MARKET

The shop has had smoked local trout and Nova smoked salmon but this week SABLE hit the shelf!

  1. Wow!

    1. Rhein's Deli in Vernon. Great herring. Also sell sable, white fish, lox, etc. (haven't tried them yet but look good).

      Great soups and brisket.

I don't think the OP was asking for a rec...they wanted to make a big announcement!

Agreed, but I add a vote for Reins Deli in Vernon, especially the large size pastrami and chopped liver on rye. Skip the onion rings, meh.

      2. Drool!
