Asian Fusion with Sushi?

sw79 Aug 1, 2013 06:32 AM

We'll be in New Orleans this weekend and are looking for an Asian fusion restaurant that also has sushi rolls. Most of our meals this weekend will be street food at the festival, but we would like to start with a healthy-ish lunch tomorrow (Friday). My parents will be with me and aren't crazy about Japanese food, including sushi. Is there a sushi restaurant that also has Thai or Vietnamese options, or other Asian fusion beyond Japanese? We usually go to Hana or Wasabi and are open to restaurants in Mid-City, Uptown, GD, downtown, or Marigny/Bywater.

Forget the sushi and go to Lucky Rooster. Asian fusion in the best possible way: http://luckyroosternola.com/content/u...

Thanks for the rec. How is the sushi at Hoshun? From the outside, Hoshun looks a little cheesy and over-the-top, but the menu does seem to have the variety that I'm looking for.

I've never been, I just remembered that they have a varied menu. Sorry.

I haven't been to Hoshun either and am glad I'm not the only one that was put off by its external appearance.
Until I hear some good reviews it is a place that does not draw me in.

Hoshun is cheesy and over the top, but honestly what good sushi/Japanese place also serves Thai and Vietnamese? variety comes with a price...
