I've been searching for a source for good, fluffy pita. Not the thin Lebanese kind, but more like the variety found in a number of other Arabic countries. Preferably this would be from a grocery store or market where I could buy a bag of it rather than a restaurant, but if there's a great restaurant for it, I'd still like to know.

Anyone have any suggestions or leads?

  1. The best pita of this kind is from Mama's on 20th St, they bake their own and sell by the dozen -- but you may want to call ahead to make sure they have enough. They have white and whole wheat but the white is better.

    1. Hamifgash Restaurant (811 Sansom) has fluffy pita. I like it a lot, though I'm no expert.
