What is open in Rome in August

vinoroma Jul 31, 2013 12:54 AM

Though not everything closes for the whole month anymore, a lot of places do close anywhere from just the 15th to 5 weeks, into September. Here are some good venues that are open throughout August according to their respective regular schedules, even on August 15th.

Pizzarium (pizza by the slice)
Fatamorgana, Vice and Gelateria Gori (gelateria)
Antonini (tavola calda)
Cesare al Casaletto (roman trattoria)
Nonna Betta (roman-jewish trattoria)
Mesob (ethiopian)
Antico Arco (fine dining)
Glass (fine dining)
Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà (beer pub)

A further list with places that are open around the 15th (but not the 15th) and the exact closing dates of many others are in this blog post:

E, do you know if Sostanza is closed for August? We are thinking doing a day trip to Florence for lunch there at the end of the month and I can't find if they are open or not. Guess I should buy your Florence app already. :-)

Many thanks! I will be there from late August through to the end of September and several of those restaurants are on my list so I might schedule them for the first week (last week of August) and the others for later....
