White Salmon/Bingen/Hood River - good eats ?

We'll be roadtripping from Vancouver BC down to that area and up the Gorge in mid-August, almost exactly 2 years since our last visit there. Wondering if there are any new and good eats worthy of checking out. We have a 7 yr-old in tow, so raunchy taverns and white tablecloth places are out, but pretty much everything in between are ok.
We have no food restrictions, other than pretentious pricey dainty servings that look like the plates were simply not washed properly ;-)
Thanks in advance.
Hey Sedimental :-)
Thx for the rec. Yeah we drove by Solstice on our last trip and I actually had planned to go there (son loves pizzas and he's pretty sophisticated about it. He dusted off a NW Kale pizza at Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen in B'ham last Sat night !) Will definitely drop in this time.
I've always had good experiences at Full Sail Brewery in Hood River. Can get a bit crowded, but it's a happy fun crowd. :)
Families are welcome (small area that is 'the bar' is off limits of course) and the view is terrific. Smaller menu with some interesting choices and tasty brews.
If you are in White Salmon and want picnic type items you might want to check out Feast Market. They opened about a year ago, I have not been there yet but I hear they have a decent small deli. I would not go out of my way to go there but if you happen to be in the area and just want a simple to go lunch it might be worth a shot.
I hope you have a nice trip. It looks like the weather will be nice while you are here. Right now you are missing thunder storms but it should clear up by Monday.
Thanks Sampanther ! Re: Feast Market. we'll be just a few blocks from center of town of WS, so I hope to check them out during the week.
And I really want to go to Nora's Table in Hood River this time, since I was not able to last time.
Yup, weather looks to improve after Monday, reaching 30C high on Tuesday.
Well our chow time in WS/HR didn't crash and burn. 'Tho we couldn't make it to Nora's Table, Solstice nor Full Sail Brewpub, we at least had a casual lunch at a new spot called River Tap (1st location is at The Dalles). Pub grub .... but decent ones at that. I had a really delish fried chicken sammy where the huge piece of breast meat was fried to golden perfection while totally tender and juicy inside. Wife's order of a dozen buffalo wings turned out to be drumstick-sized drumettes with a good balance of tobasco and vinegar. A side plate of hummus, artichokes, olives, banana peppers and flatbread served as a great starter. Only drawback is the room is at the far back end of the building and it lacked windows of any kind. Felt more like a nightclub or dungeon.
Thanks again for all the recs !
